Collections

Our collection guides are in .pdf format and some web browsers do not give you an option to search the files.  You may try CTRL-F (PC users) or Mac users may try Command-F.  If this doesn’t work, try switching to a different web browser.

Most researchers will be interested in items found in our “Record Groups” which contain such items as wills, court cases, dockets, tax books, minute books, etc.  To navigate to the desired record, you must first know where a record originated, such as the County Clerk’s office, Circuit Court, Chancery Court, Property Assessor’s office, etc.  You may wish to read the description at the beginning of each guide which will help you to determine where a specific record might be found.
